In 2019, Donald Trump attempted to purchase Greenland, an autonomous territory of Denmark. The proposal was immediately rejected by Copenhagen and described as absurd by local authorities. The episode confirmed his style of governing: turning politics into a spectacle, as if he were still in front of the cameras on The Apprentice.
But politics is not Hollywood. There are no special effects to cover up the consequences, nor end credits to undo the damage. Greenland is not a film set and the world is not a theme park where you can indulge your every whim.
In the end, the only attraction left is watching Trump’s script crash into reality.
