The DEA indicated that rewards of between US$10 million and US$15 million are also being offered for information on other members of his government, such as Diosdado Cabello and Vladimir Padrino.
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) published on its social networks the form in which it offers up to $50 million for information leading to the arrest of Nicolás Maduro, president of Venezuela and identified by the United States as leader of the Los Soles Cartel.
Although the increase in the reward was announced on January 10, the U.S. agency published the record in the context of the designation of the Cartel de Los Soles as a terrorist organization.
The DEA also recalled that it is offering rewards for other members of the Maduro government: Diosdado Cabello Rondón, Venezuela’s interior minister, and Vladimir Padrino López, minister of Defense.
The State Department accuses Diosdado Cabello of participating in the conspiracy between the Cartel of the Suns and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia to traffic cocaine;
In January of this year, the United States increased the reward for information leading to the arrest of this official from $10 million to $25 million;
On the other hand, the DEA said that it is also offering 15 million dollars for information on Vladimir Padrino, Minister of Defense, who is said to have facilitated the air transport of cocaine from Venezuela to Central America.
President Donald Trump’s administration claims that the Los Soles Cartel supports the Sinaloa Cartel and the transnational gang Tren de Aragua, two organizations that were also recently flagged as terrorists by the United States.
