La Comisión de Defensa Nacional del Senado autorizó este miércoles ejercicios militares conjuntos con tropas estadounidenses en la frontera común, así como el adiestramiento de militares mexicanos en Estados Unidos.

The authority’s requests specify that 216 of the military elements of the American Union will bring their own weapons.
The legislators endorsed the ‘Friendly Forces 2024’ operation, which will be held from June 24 to 28 in Ciudad Juárez, bordering Texas, as well as the ‘Joint Specialized Exercise 2024’ from July 15 to August 3 at the National Training Center in Santa Gertrudis, in Chihuahua, northern border state.
They also approved the activity ‘Improving the Capacity Against Weapons of Mass Destruction’ from July 22 to August 9 in Temamatla, State of Mexico, neighboring the Mexican capital, according to a statement from the commission, chaired by Senator José Narro, of the ruling National Regeneration Movement (Morena).

On the other hand, the senators authorized the departure of Mexican troops for the ‘CONUS Training (within the continental United States) for the profile of a complete mission’, which will be held at Eglin Air Force Base, in Florida, from April 28 to May 31.
In addition, approval has been given to the activity ‘Improving the capacity against weapons of mass destruction’, scheduled from July 22 to August 9 in Temamatla, State of Mexico, near the Mexican capital.
Meanwhile, a delegation of 12 members of the Seventh Special Forces Group will enter through the International Airport of Tapachula, Chiapas, and will be from May 21 to June 27 «with weapons, ammunition, material and special equipment necessary for the joint combined training.»
