Trump appears with blood on his face. Rally suspended after shooting

Former US President Donald Trump, Republican candidate for the November elections in the United States, was evacuated from a rally on Saturday in the town of Butler in the state of Pennsylvania (northeast) with visible blood on his ear and after apparent gunshots were heard.

Donald Trump, who was just beginning his speech to a large crowd of supporters, was quickly put on the ground by Secret Service guards, in charge of the security of presidents and former presidents in the United States.

Briefly, Trump got up surrounded by the agents who escorted him off the stage to his vehicle. As he left, the candidate raised a fist in front of a crowd of his supporters in defiance, which apparently ruled out something even more serious.
«We saw a lot of people who threw themselves on the ground, looking on in confusion. I heard gunshots, it sounded like firecrackers and a small-caliber gun,» said John Yeykal of Franklin, Pennsylvania, who was attending a Trump rally for the first time.

How is Donald Trump feeling after the attack?

After what happened, Donald Trump’s presidential campaign staff assured that the politician is ‘safe’ after the unfortunate incident, a version confirmed shortly after by secret service personnel.

«The Secret Service implemented protective measures and the former president is safe. This is now an active investigation by the Secret Service and more information will be released when it becomes available,» Secret Service communications chief Anthony Guglielmi said on the social network X (formerly Twitter).

Saturday’s rally was Trump’s last rally before next week’s Republican convention in which he will be officially nominated as the Republican Party candidate against Democratic President Joe Biden in the upcoming November presidential election in the United States.
