Democratic lawmakers urge Trump to revoke tariffs on Mexico and Canada, citing concerns that «costs will increase» for U.S. families.

The letter is signed by Reps. Stacey Plaskett, Jimmy Panetta, Linda Sanchez, Suzan DelBene, Judy Chu, Lloyd Doggett, Jimmy Gomez, Brendan Boyle, Don Beyer, Mike Thompson, Dwight Evans, Brad Schneider, Terri Sewell, Steven Horsford, John Larson, Danny K. Earlier this month, Trump signed orders imposing 25% tariffs on Canadian and Mexican goods. In the days that followed, Trump struck deals with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum to delay the tariffs for at least a month. However, last weekend Trump announced widespread tariffs of 25% on steel and aluminum imports, wherever they come from, starting March 12. Canada and Mexico are among the countries most affected by the measure.
