At 8 a.m. Mountain time the center was about 190 miles west-southwest of Cabo Corrientes, with winds near 60 mph. No coastal watches or warnings were in effect. The National Hurricane Center said it should become post-tropical by early Tuesday.

At 5 a.m. Mountain time the center was still offshore, with winds near 105 mph, moving northwest at 10 mph. A hurricane warning runs from Manzanillo to Cabo Corrientes. Mexico dropped the warnings south of Manzanillo.

At 9 a.m. Central time the storm was a Category 1, with winds of 90 miles an hour. A hurricane warning runs from Manzanillo to Cabo Corrientes. The center was still offshore.

At 5 a.m. local time the National Hurricane Center put the Category 3 storm 50 miles west-southwest of Cabo Corrientes, with winds of 115 miles an hour. It was moving at 2 miles an hour. The turn inland is expected around midweek.
