AAA put the U.S. diesel average at $6.40 a gallon on Thursday, a record, nine cents above Wednesday’s $6.31. Regular gasoline is $4.44. Before the Iran war it was $3.76. The East-West is still shut. Hormuz is still closed. Distillate is still below the five-year range. A $5,000 dividend does not fill a tank. A USMCA signing before November is still a speech.
