President Trump posted Monday that Ukraine and Russia had agreed not to hit each other’s energy. “Ukraine has agreed not to hit Russian Energy targets. Russia has agreed to do so, likewise.” Tuesday morning neither capital said it had. The World desk files a truce that lived on Truth Social.
Zelensky, overnight: a strong proposal. Ukraine will de-escalate if America can ensure Russia is genuinely ready to stop — honestly, and for the long term. Peskov: a halt would be “a very good idea,” and would not move the fuel market the way Trump claimed. Reuters: even a real pause would not reverse the diesel crunch. Hormuz is still closed. Salalah did not sit.
