Gulf foreign ministers plan to sit with Iran on Monday in Salalah, Oman — the first meeting of GCC diplomats with a senior Iranian official since the U.S.-Israeli war began in February. Oman is the host. The Financial Times, citing two people briefed, said the aim is a temporary deal to manage shipping through Hormuz: enter via Iranian water, exit mostly via Omani. Details were not final. Several states had confirmed.

Tehran wants the GCC on board so Washington will lift the blockade on Iranian ports, one of the people said. The Gulf states want whatever is signed to be temporary, and the ships to move. An Iran-Oman corridor had been in the works for two weeks. Qatar still wants the strait opened with no conditions. Brent slipped Friday on the report, then held three figures.

For Iran and Oman it is about getting the GCC on board.
