KYIV — Russian strikes early Wednesday killed a child and injured five people in Kyiv and the surrounding region, Reuters reported. Mayor Vitali Klitschko said fires broke out in private houses, a store, and a warehouse in the city, and that two people there were injured. A witness heard explosions.
Tymur Tkachenko, the regional governor, said a missile and a drone killed the child and injured three more people outside the city, and damaged houses, warehouses, cars, and infrastructure. This is not Friday's toll. Friday was a 14-year-old in a 16-story building in Pechersk. Wednesday's dead, on the Reuters wire, are the child in the region.
