The Salalah meeting is off. Gulf ministers were to sit with Iran on Monday over a temporary lane in Hormuz. Overnight, Oman said the conditions were not right. Tehran said Saudi Arabia asked that it not be held. Badr al-Busaidi: the postponement was “in the interests of consensus.” No new date. The World desk files an empty table, not a strait.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said the Iran-Oman understanding on maritime routes is already finalized. They will decide with Muscat how to announce it. Araghchi had said the maps were a lane, not a reopening. Bahrain had already skipped. Axios: Riyadh wanted amendments so the wording would not become a status quo.
