Jay Clayton, the director of national intelligence, will lead the Super Intelligence Force President Trump announced on Sunday.

WASHINGTON — President Trump on Sunday named Jay Clayton, the director of national intelligence, to lead a new government task force he is calling the Super Intelligence Force. The Associated Press reported the announcement. Trump has told the government to say super intelligence, not artificial intelligence.

In a post on Truth Social he said the force would coordinate the federal effort so that America continues to lead the world in super intelligence, “which many say is bigger than the Industrial Revolution, and the Internet.” The group is to work with consumers, public-interest organizations, religious groups, infrastructure providers, and the companies. It follows last week’s White House lunch, where the heads of the big companies signed a voluntary accord.

America continues to lead the World in Super Intelligence.

Also on the force: Andrew Ferguson, chairman of the Federal Trade Commission; Emil Michael, the Pentagon’s chief technology officer; and Scott Kupor, director of the Office of Personnel Management. They report to Trump and to the White House chief of staff, Susie Wiles. On Friday the White House had said any personnel news would come from the president. On Sunday he announced it. The Politics desk files the appointment. The governor polls are the front. The jobs report and the October rate bet are on the economy page.
