PRI files criminal complaint with FGR against Adán Augusto, AMLO, Andy López Beltrán, Governors and former governors from morena for ties to organized crime
The national leader of the PRI, Alejandro Moreno, warned that MORENA resorts to distractions and attacks against the opposition to cover up corruption, violence, and its complicity with organized crime.
He also announced that the PRI will file complaints before international bodies against the MORENA government for protecting criminals and co-opting institutions.
Senate of the Republic, July 30, 2025
The national president of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), Senator Alejandro Moreno Cárdenas, stated that Mexico is experiencing the worst crisis in its history, caused by an indifferent government that has allowed organized crime to infiltrate all levels of power.

“Over 220,000 homicides, more than 125,000 missing persons, all of which demonstrate the brutal violence in the country. Clearly, there is an almost total control by organized crime,” he said at a press conference, accompanied by members of the National Executive Committee and PRI legislators.
He reported that the PRI filed criminal complaints with the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) against governors, former governors, officials, legislators, former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, and Senator Adán Augusto López Hernández — all for alleged ties to organized crime.
“There is a clear pattern of cover-up in every place where MORENA governs,” he warned, listing Américo Villarreal (Tamaulipas), Alfonso Durazo (Sonora), Rubén Rocha Moya (Sinaloa), and Rutilio Escandón (Chiapas) as individuals accused of protecting or collaborating with criminal groups in their states.
Also denounced were López Obrador, his son Andrés López Beltrán, and Campeche Governor Layda Sansores, due to national and international reports linking them to criminal activities and corruption networks.

Regarding Adán Augusto López Hernández, he demanded his immediate resignation from the Senate’s Political Coordination Board: “He was not only the main political operator of the notoriously corrupt and crime-linked Andrés Manuel López Obrador. Tabasco lived through hell, and as Interior Secretary, he failed to respond to organized crime.”
He pointed out that there are articles of incorporation for seven companies linked to Adán Augusto and his former Security Secretary, Hernán Bermúdez Requena. “Families allegedly involved in organized crime are being named.”

He added that military intelligence reports indicate that the criminal group “La Barredora,” led by Bermúdez, planned to supply over 200,000 liters of diesel to the Maya Train. “They were given land for the project. All of this involves diesel smuggling and fuel theft. We will file charges against him, former President López Obrador, and López-Gatell — that criminal who allowed the death of many Mexicans,” he stated.
He added that complaints will also be filed “in the coming days in the United States and at the International Criminal Court in The Hague for crimes against humanity.”
He criticized the federal government for being “afraid, paralyzed, and doing nothing to investigate and fight organized crime.” In this context, he directly blamed Manuel Bartlett Díaz, former director of the Federal Electricity Commission: “He’s been accused of ties to organized crime and the murder of DEA agent Enrique Camarena Salazar.”
“That’s why we must raise our voices and demand an investigation,” he emphasized
He denounced that, in the face of the magnitude of the scandal involving MORENA figures and organized crime, the government is launching attacks against the opposition to distract public opinion. “They want to create distractions so that people don’t talk about what’s really happening in Mexico. Sadly, our country is being labeled worldwide as a narco-state, and MORENA politicians are linked to organized crime.”
Regarding the attempt to strip him of immunity, he was clear: “There will be no removal of immunity. It has already been ordered to be shelved and closed with direct instructions to the chair of the Committee and the Instructing Section. They have nothing.”

“They submitted a catalogue of nonsense and lies to try to intimidate. I have nothing to hide. I have nothing to conceal. They have nothing. There is nothing. And I will beat them again.”
He concluded firmly: “The PRI is standing strong, facing this with courage, character, and determination. This government wants to silence, suppress, intimidate, and scare us. They are shameless, they are corrupt, and that’s why we have reported them with all the evidence available so investigations can take place.”
