CNN reported Friday, citing four people, that a U.S. intelligence product — written with a chatbot — said a Chinese ship in the Middle East was carrying nuclear-program parts. Special Operations. The military prepared to intercept and board, aircraft up. Then someone checked the model. The chatbot had misidentified the cargo. The report, one source said, was entirely false. Another: it almost started a war. CENTCOM did not comment.
The episode was last spring, during the Iran war. The analyst fused open-source with signals. CNN could not say what the ship actually held. Xi Jinping is due at the White House on Wednesday. Trump banned CNN from the same building on Friday. Newsom signed a kill-switch order the same afternoon.
