MILWAUKEE — William Contreras hit a tying home run in the fifth and singled home the go-ahead run in the sixth, and the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 7–4 on Monday night to take a 2–0 lead in the National League Championship Series, the Associated Press reported. Dustin May, JoJo Romero, Abner Uribe and Aaron Ashby retired the last 15 Dodgers in order. The series, a best of seven, moves to Los Angeles for Game 3 on Wednesday night. Robert Gasser is expected to start for Milwaukee.
Contreras did the damage in Game 2. The Dodgers, the two-time defending World Series champions, need the game in their own park to avoid a 3–0 hole. This edition closed before first pitch. There is no Game 3 score in this note.
Milwaukee leads the series, two games to none. Game 3 has not been played.
