CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — President Trump stood on a stage Wednesday night while Vivek Ramaswamy spoke, the Associated Press reported. The rally was at the Shoemaker Center at Ohio University Chillicothe. Trump said, “We’re going to have a tremendous victory.” The same night, former President Barack Obama rallied in Morrow, Georgia, with Keisha Lance Bottoms and Senator Jon Ossoff. The New York Times said Thursday that Trump is taking the tour to South Carolina, a state he carried by 18 points in 2024, where a recent poll showed a tied Senate race. He had not spoken there when this edition closed. This note is the Ohio night. It is not a speech in South Carolina.
The photograph is Wednesday, Oct. 28, in Chillicothe. Mark Schiefelbein made it for the Associated Press. Trump is listening. Ramaswamy is at the microphone, his right index finger raised. Both men are in the frame. It is not Thursday morning, and it is not South Carolina.
We're going to have a tremendous victory.
