AAA put the U.S. diesel average at $6.2040 a gallon on Sunday, a record, above Friday’s $6.16. Regular gasoline is $4.313. The previous diesel high was this morning. The Economy desk files the workhorse fuel on a Sunday the markets are shut and the pump is not.
