MILWAUKEE — Jacob Misiorowski heads the Brewers’ staff into a World Series that starts Friday night here. The Associated Press reported that his fastball is over 100 miles an hour, and that Game 1 is Friday in Milwaukee. It will be the first Series between two clubs that have never won a title since the Phillies beat the Royals in 1980. The Rays are the other club. This desk is not saying he has been announced as Friday’s starter. The wire used here says he leads the pitchers. It does not print a lineup card.

Wednesday’s note was the date and the place. This one is the arm Milwaukee is counting on. The Rays’ starter is not named here.

His fastball is over 100 miles an hour.

The photograph is Sunday, Oct. 11, not Friday. Misiorowski, number 32, is in the first inning of National League Championship Series Game 1 against the Dodgers, in a white Brewers uniform, right arm coming through, left leg stretched toward the plate. Abbie Parr of the Associated Press made the frame. It is him pitching. It is not Media Day, and no Ray is in it.
