Saturday morning, not a post. MS NOW White House correspondent Akayla Gardner walked two gates, then scanned her badge at the magnetometers. Red light. The officer asked for the pass. Disabled, he said. Above him, he said. A photographer’s badge was taken too. A producer’s still worked. The Politics desk files the ban Trump wrote on Truth Social Friday afternoon as an order the Secret Service enforced overnight.
MS NOW: it will take any and all steps to defend the First Amendment. The White House belongs to the American people. Gardner told the network on air from outside the perimeter. CNN and Politico were named in the same Friday post. It was not clear Saturday morning whether their reporters were also blocked. Friday night they had still been on the grounds. Jim Acosta’s badge came back last time. The AP is already in court over the Gulf.
The officer asked me to hand over my badge. He said that it was disabled.
