WASHINGTON — Reuters reported Friday night that the State Department had approved a potential sale of UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters to Mexico, estimated at $1.08 billion. The principal contractor is Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin company. Reuters did not say how many aircraft. This desk does not print a number that was not in that dispatch. An approval of a possible sale is not a delivery.
Friday’s Mexico note, the hens culled in Umán, stays filed. This is Saturday’s note.
The photograph is not Mexico and not Friday. It is a UH-60M over Akmenynai, Lithuania, on May 6, 2026, during the Brave Griffin exercise near the Suwałki gap. Soldiers are on ropes under the aircraft. Ints Kalnins, Reuters, file.
