LOS ANGELES — Jake Bauers and Garrett Mitchell hit back-to-back home runs off Blake Snell in the seventh, and the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 6–2 on Wednesday night to take a 3–0 lead in the National League Championship Series, the Associated Press reported. Jackson Chourio had homered to right-center on the first pitch of the game. Will Smith’s two-run double in the sixth put Los Angeles ahead 2–1. That lead lasted an inning. Bauers’s two-run homer, 412 feet, came on the 11th pitch of the at-bat and scored Christian Yelich. Mitchell followed to right-center, 428 feet. Robert Gasser started and threw five shutout innings. DL Hall got the win. Trevor Megill finished it. Snell took the loss.

Only one club in baseball history, the 2004 Boston Red Sox, has come back from a three-games-to-none deficit in a best-of-seven series, USA Today noted. Game 4 is Thursday in Los Angeles. This edition closed with no score from it. A sweep would be Milwaukee’s first pennant since 1982.

One more win is the pennant. Game 4 has no score in this note.
