NEW YORK — The Senate race in South Carolina is effectively tied, a New York Times/Siena College poll released Wednesday found. Senator Darline Graham, the Republican appointed to her late brother's seat, led Dr. Annie Andrews, the Democrat, by less than one percentage point. The Times said Democrats lead the Minnesota Senate race by 14 points, and that Republicans lead in Florida by six, a smaller margin than the party's double-digit win in that state two years ago. The dispatch this desk used did not print a sample size. This note does not invent one.
The photograph is not Wednesday's poll. Graham is speaking, her right hand open. Andrews is not in the frame. The Times did not publish this picture with the poll.
Less than one point.
