Marcelo Ebrard would not give Trump the date. After the military parade he was asked if the T-MEC would be signed before the November elections in the United States. “We’ll see. It depends on many things. Right now we don’t know.” Depends on what? “On keeping at the work.” How are the talks? “Ahí va.” The Mexico desk files a secretary who will not race a hangar in North Carolina.

President Sheinbaum has not confirmed any agreement. Infobae this morning: her government has informed nothing. Trump, in Gastonia: a great deal, very close. The Wall Street Journal, people familiar: the commercial talks slipped a week, to Sept. 28 and 29. Tuesday Trump had said it could be signed before the vote. Ebrard: that is Trump’s view.
