Hurricane Polo weakened to Category 4 by noon GMT on Wednesday. Sustained winds near 150 mph. Pressure 925 millibars. The center sat about 155 miles southwest of Acapulco, moving northwest near 5 mph. Tuesday night it had been a Category 5 at 180 mph and 892 millibars, second in the eastern Pacific only to Patricia.
Guerrero kept Wednesday’s classes virtual. Red flags stayed on Acapulco’s beaches. Plan DN-III-E is up. Colima, Michoacán, Oaxaca, and Jalisco remain under the rain watch. The forecast track still stays offshore.
The eye is still offshore.
