Drew Lock, in for Sam Darnold, threw a 45-yard touchdown to Jaxon Smith-Njigba on fourth-and-1. Jason Myers kicked a 26-yarder. Josh Jobe intercepted Drake Maye in the end zone with 21 seconds left. Seattle 13, New England 10. The Sports desk files a Super Bowl rematch that needed a backup.
Darnold lasted five snaps. Hip. No fracture, Mike Macdonald said. More tests Monday. Maye threw three interceptions in the fourth, the most of his career, including the last one underthrown to Mack Hollins. New England led 10-0 and went for the win instead of a kick that would have sent it to overtime. A.J. Brown left with an ankle.
It was unacceptable.
