MILWAUKEE — The Brewers beat the Rays, 5-4, on Saturday night and lead the World Series, two games to none. They were down four runs. Sal Frelick tied it in the sixth with his first home run in three months, the Associated Press reported. He had gone 103 plate appearances without a home run since July 11, off Pittsburgh’s Braxton Ashcraft. On the ninth pitch of the at-bat, against Ian Seymour, he drove a fastball over the center-field fence and went around the bases in 18.72 seconds. “I would think I’m in that orange Life Saver category,” Frelick said. Cooper Pratt, 22, who debuted in June, singled home the go-ahead run in the seventh on a sinker from Kevin Kelly. David Hamilton’s grounder in the fourth bounced under Jonathan Aranda’s legs for an error and cut the deficit to 4-3. Abner Uribe, with one and a third hitless innings, got the win. Game 3 is Monday night at Tropicana Field. Friday’s note was Game 1, 3-2. This one is Saturday.
The photograph is Saturday night in Milwaukee. Frelick, number 10, dirt on the white uniform, fist up, mouth open. Pratt is not in the frame. It is the celebration, not the swing.
