The same edition carried the next bill: INE and the electoral court want a 2027 pile that journalists put at 51 billion pesos, 13 billion of that for the institute alone — more precincts, inflation, paper for ballots. Sheinbaum’s government will have to fund a midterm machine while Washington talks over the river.
Labor Day Monday in the United States is a holiday. In Mexico City it is a news cycle. Coordination, she has said, is not subordination. The trucks still have to cross.
No head of the executive should have to answer to another country.
