KYIV — The Pivdennyi Bridge, the Southern Bridge, one of Kyiv's six main bridges, was hit overnight by four Iskander ballistic missiles, a Ukrainian military source told Reuters. President Volodymyr Zelenskiy called it a serious escalation against logistics. A metro line runs on that bridge, with the road. Mayor Vitali Klitschko said Tuesday the city plans to spend 1 billion hryvnias, about $22 million, on water crossings over the Dnipro and the roads that lead to them. Russia has also hit other bridges in the city with drones, Reuters reported.

This desk is not printing a new death toll for the bridge. Monday's count, at least one person killed and 10 injured, stays Monday's. It is not folded into Tuesday's missiles.

A serious escalation.
