KYIV — A Russian drone hit a 16-story apartment building in the Pechersk district of Kyiv on Friday morning and killed a 14-year-old boy. Reuters quoted Ukrainian police: at least seven other people were injured. In the Odesa region, Governor Oleh Kiper said one person was killed and another injured in strikes on a residential area and on a postal depot.
Russia's defense ministry said its forces had struck defense plants, logistics sites, and vessels used by Ukraine's military. It denies aiming at civilians. This is not Thursday's toll. Thursday was eight dead, six of them farm workers in the Kharkiv region. Friday's dead, on the wire, are the boy in the capital and the person in Odesa.
