A woman is dead in Kyiv. Sixteen wounded, two of them children.

A Russian drone killed a woman in Kyiv’s Dniprovskyi district on Wednesday afternoon and wounded 16 people in the capital, two of them children — a 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said. The alert ran more than six hours. City prosecutors opened a war-crime file. The morning had already put a jet-powered drone into a 24-story house in Darnytskyi. Kyiv Post put the dead woman at 67, standing near a building when the drone hit. Police photographs showed fire from the first to the fourth floor of a nine-story. Earlier in the day a warehouse burned near the Komfort-Town complex. Overnight, two civilians died at the Starokozache crossing with Moldova. Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner were in Kyiv after Moscow on Labor Day. They brought no breakthrough. Tuesday the bombardment resumed. Wednesday it had a high-rise and a name.

Unfortunately, we have learned that a woman was killed as a result of the enemy attack.

The Iran war is the American war this paper has been writing. Ukraine is the other front the White House still sends envoys to. A 67-year-old woman in Dniprovskyi is not a probe. It is an evening.
