LOZOVA, Ukraine — A Russian strike on a market in Lozova, near the northeastern city of Kharkiv, killed two people and injured 36, regional officials told Reuters. The wire carried that count in its account of Thursday’s attacks. This desk is printing the market. It is not reprinting the overnight barrage on Kyiv already filed here, and it is not folding this toll into any other.
The Reuters file used for this note does not give a weapon, a time of day, or the ages of the dead. Those details are not added.
Two killed and 36 injured.
The photograph is the market after the strike. A roof has collapsed behind a blue metal gate. A shop window is blown out, and a church stands in the distance under a clear sky. No rescuer is in the frame, and it is not a count of the wounded. It is not the firefighters on the Kyiv street from Wednesday night.
