The 81st General Assembly opened in New York on Tuesday. Trump spoke. Guterres spoke. Zelenskyy is in the building. Pezeshkian lands for Wednesday. Andy Burnham sits with Trump for the first time. The States desk files the city that hosts the week, not the speech.
Melania was in the hall. Trump asked where the first lady was, then found her. At the curb he told CNN’s Kaitlan Collins she should not be covering him. The escalator worked. Last year it had not.
It is an honor to be at the United Nations.
