President Trump told reporters in the Oval Office on Friday that the United States may hit Iran’s Pickaxe Mountain “very soon.” The site, Kuh-e Kolang Gaz La, sits about two kilometers from the damaged Natanz enrichment plant. It holds two deeply buried tunnel complexes. Analysts say centrifuges may already be moving in. Trump said American intelligence knows “everybody that’s moving at Pickaxe.”
Hours later, Iranian outlet Khabar Fouri said a tanker off Kharg Island — the hub for about 90 percent of Iran’s oil exports — was struck by four U.S. missiles. Tehran says bombing Pickaxe would amount to a renewal of war across the region. Washington has not confirmed the tanker.
The same president who called the six-month fight “small potatoes” still keeps a mountain on the target list. Britain, France and Germany are pushing a draft that could send Iran back to the Security Council over nuclear obligations. The World desk files the threat. The pump files the rest.
