The United States on Friday approved a $5 billion sale of bombs, guidance kits and other equipment to Saudi Arabia, a kingdom that has been repeatedly attacked during the U.S.–Israeli war against Iran. The paperwork is a weapons list. The timing is a holiday weekend in which American diesel set a record.
Riyadh has spent months trying not to be drafted. The sale drafts it in hardware. Iran has already made the peninsula a target set. A bomb sale does not de-escalate a strait. It stocks a warehouse for the next week of the same war.
