TEHRAN — The Associated Press photographed government supporters on Wednesday standing on U.S. and Israeli flags outside the former U.S. embassy. Wednesday is the anniversary of the 1979 seizure of that embassy. Vahid Salemi made the picture. No one in the frame is named.
On the AP’s election live page, Mojtaba Ferdousi Pour, head of Iran’s diplomatic mission in Cairo, said the Trump administration had sought to change Iran’s leadership through war and instead saw a “significant shift” at home. This desk does not print a toll. It does not print a new strike. The Qeshm strikes a U.S. official described as defensive were Monday, and they are already in Tuesday’s note. This is not that note.

Iran's Guard says two tankers exploded on mines.
Reuters, Sunday: the Revolutionary Guard Navy, through Iranian state media, said two tankers hit mines on a route it called unauthorized. This desk is not confirming the blasts, and it is not Friday’s Louise 1.

Russian strikes cut power to hundreds of thousands.
Reuters, Sunday: Zelenskiy said Russia hit power infrastructure in four regions. Moscow’s drone count and Ukraine’s are not one number. The photograph is Poltava on Oct. 31, not those regions.
