TEHRAN — Elena Becatoros and John Seewer of the Associated Press, updated Wednesday afternoon, reported that Iranian officials treated the midterm result as a rejection of the war. Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf wrote: “Americans said NO TO WAR, and we endorse this message.” He added that if Washington ignores the vote, “it will learn our NO comes with a Nightmare.” A Foreign Ministry spokesperson said that if the United States keeps ignoring what it called reality, “the consequences of this grave miscalculation will extend far beyond what you have already witnessed.”
Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei said: “If there are still those who harbor even a slight hope for a change in behavior or partisan and factional shifts within the system of domination, or who imagine that by giving concessions to America they can dissuade it from hostility toward the Iranian nation, they are gravely mistaken.” This desk does not print a new strike and does not print a toll. The Qeshm strikes a U.S. official called defensive were Monday, and they are already filed. The photograph is Wednesday, outside the former U.S. embassy, the anniversary of the 1979 seizure.
