Russian drones hit Zaporizhzhia late Sunday — apartment blocks, a university, a shopping mall, a boiler house. Zelenskyy said five were wounded there. A woman was killed in Lozova, Kharkiv region. Ten regions in the evening and overnight, he wrote. The World War desk files the reply to the weekend: Kyiv had put more than 1,000 drones on Russia, hundreds at Moscow, on the last day of the Duma vote.
Moscow’s defense ministry said it will continue and intensify high-accuracy strikes on military targets in Kyiv. It claimed 244 Ukrainian drones downed overnight. Ukraine’s air force said it shot down or suppressed 148 Russian drones. Putin is not coming to New York. United Russia took the Duma. The war is in its 1,671st day.
Russia is not backing down from its escalation.
The World War desk files Monday as it is: a southern city on fire, ten oblasts, and a president who said the meeting with Trump could change a lot.
